Collection: Liners

Torch liners for GYS MIG welders — steel and teflon liners in all lengths for smooth wire feed with steel, stainless and aluminum wire.

Torch liners for steel and aluminum wire

The liner guides the wire from the feeder to the contact tip. Steel wire runs in a coiled steel liner, blue for 0.6 to 0.8 mm and red for 1.0 to 1.2 mm. Aluminum wire needs a Teflon liner with the brass complement at the torch end, because the soft wire shaves on steel and jams. A worn or wrong liner shows up as erratic feed, bird-nesting at the rollers and a crackling arc, and it is the second thing to change after the contact tip when a welder starts feeding badly.

Choosing

  • Pick the colour for your wire diameter and the length for your torch, 3 m or 4 m.
  • Use a Teflon liner for aluminum and for silicon bronze, both soft wires.
  • Cut the liner to length on the torch, not before, and blow the torch out when you change it.

Liners fit the GYS torches listed in the torches collection and ship from California the same business day. Call (415) 419-5824 with the torch model if in doubt.
